Science fiction vs real action: Batang Quiapo is more popular than Voltes V

The highly-publicized ratings battle between Voltes V: Legacy on GMA and Batang Quiapo on ABS-CBN is a well-known competition in the television industry and online platforms. These two networks have been constant rivals in their respective TV programs and productions, with ABS-CBN often emerging as the frontrunner. However, it is intriguing to note that with Voltes V: Legacy and Batang Quiapo, the margin between their ratings is significantly narrower. One may wonder what sets Voltes V: Legacy and Batang Quiapo apart and makes them stand out in this tightly-contested arena. For a few weeks last month there was a study on Voltes V: Legacy and Batang Quiapo conducted by Capstone-Intel Corporation to find out their appeal to the general public on different platforms online. Capstone-Intel is a private research agency, serious about providing high-impact research with actionable intelligence. In their study, they took the clear comparison of two programs from different platforms in social media and non-social media. Well, as I watched episodes of both TV series, I can honestly tell the difference between the two of them according to my interpretations. With Voltes V: Legacy, there is interplanetary war between aliens and human world. Aliens wants to invade earth with their flying skull transportation. They even sent a robot named “Dokugaga” to scare human beings. On other hand, the Voltes V: Legacy was the earth last line defense. They also have this V robot who will fight for aliens so called “Beast Fighter”. In Batang Quiapo, it is about a young man named “Tanggol” rises to be one of the most notorious outlaws in Quiapo, Manila. Hoping to earn the affection of his parents, his feat draws him closer to the truth about his identity. In Voltes V: Legacy in terms of cinematography, I always noticed the way GMA uses effects that is not finesse enough to become more realistic although the series is fantasy. For example, their Encantadia. The effects killed the vibe of the production. While in casts, I still do not get the vibe of the scene because for me, I am looking for more acts that will justify each current scene. Like for example, “Steve” character of Miguel Tanfelix was appointed as their team leader and while doing command to their transformation I do not get the chill. There is something I am looking for and I am not convinced enough that the eagerness to fight with the aliens is into him. In Batang Quiapo, the cinematography was excellent for me maybe because they are not using special effects as much as Voltes V: Legacy giving that fact that Batang Quiapo and the latter are different when it comes in genre. The scenes are realistic like the production is putting you inside the each and every scene. Casts are also in character. They do not just tell their lines but they show. For example, in the scene where the character of Coco Martin, Tanggol is robbing an old gay, my heart is pounding wishing that Tanggol will not get caught. In Voltes V: Legacy, it is a total cringe for me. Sorry not sorry for the word I used but that is what I felt while watching it. I am a fan of science fiction but not for Voltes V: Legacy. I rather go back watching Power Rangers than this show. Not generalizing the whole network of GMA, I do not feel like I will stick to Voltes V Legacy till the end not unless they try to use realistic effects. While Batang Quiapo is quite okay to watch if you are an action movie fan. So why do these TV shows almost hit the same ratings? For me, it is because Voltes V: Legacy is more like nostalgic because it brings a lot of 90s memories while Batang Quiapo is always had cliffhangers that make you want to watch the next episode for you to satisfy your curiosity.

Check-out Mo Na ‘Yan!: A Comparative Opinion on Lazada and Shopee

Clothes, gadgets, accessories, furniture, home improvement items, even food, anything you could possibly think of, can probably be purchased through e-commerce platforms. During the onset of the pandemic, online shopping did not only become prominent, but it has become a part of people’s way of life. Aside from the convenience it brings, it offers a cheaper price for the same brands you will find in physical stores. Imagine not being able to find a specific ingredient in a grocery store near you, with just a few taps from your fingers on your phone, you can have it delivered to your front door in just a day – all that while you were just sitting comfortably on your couch. It is also helpful for consumers to see reviews from other buyers to check for the legitimacy and quality of the products, which contributes to their decision of purchasing. For the retailers, on the other hand, these sites provide an avenue for them to sell their products without the usual operating costs of having a physical store. It is also easier for retailers to market their products online as there is an additional option of paid advertisements. In the Philippines, the two most popular online shopping platforms are Lazada and Shopee, which begs the question “Who does it better?” Both offer accessibility to a wide array of products, fast delivery times, and inexpensive price tags. In a study done by Capstone-Intel, it has been found that on Facebook, Shopee has a substantial advantage in engagement scores compared to Lazada, which means that Shopee garners more reactions, comments, and shares. However, Lazada has a more commendable positive reaction response, which are the “Like” and “Love” reactions from its audience for each post, compared to Shopee. Shopee also has a higher number of mentions across social media platforms, including Facebook. These two often utilize celebrities and influencers from both the local and international scenes for marketing, and there I would think that they are at par. Capstone-Intel Corporation, is a private research agency with the commitment to providing high-impact research further strengthened by actionable intelligence. The agency also investigated website visits, where it was found that Shopee garners 10 million more website views per month compared to Lazada. Additionally, Shopee users tend to have a balanced traffic share between desktop and mobile use. Lazada users on the other hand tend to favor using the mobile app more than its desktop website counterpart. The data Capstone-Intel collected was spanned from April 26, 2022 to May 26, 2023. In my opinion, and from the observations from the posts I see online, people often complain about the interface of Lazada as it is not user-friendly unlike that of Shopee. Though people are slowly opting to use Lazada as it offers a safer mode of delivery for parcels. There are multiple concerns with Shopee’s delivery services as consumers often complain about missing or delayed delivery of their parcels. I switched from using Shopee to Lazada as the latter offers same-day delivery for a low fee. I have also never encountered any issues with the products that they offer or their delivery riders being rude. To this day, many Filipinos still use Lazada and Shopee interchangeably; which is better? Maybe it depends on your preference as a consumer – or these two will continue to battle out until the end of time.

Argument with sense between Michael V and Rendon Labador

There was a study conducted by a company Capstone-Intel concerning the actor Michael V who is also a content creator and another one of his kind, Rendon Labador. Capstone-Intel is a private agency that can be trusted because it is committed to providing high-impact research with actionable intelligence. The study focused on Michael V and Rendon’s popularity, and if it digs deeper, it you learn what kind of popularity they have or how the general public perceives them. Here, the two’s Comparative Engagement Scores were clearly presented. There was also information on how they used Facebook data across the nation. The actor Michael V might be referred to as a real industry in the world of show business, in my opinion and if we compare the two. He is more than just an actor, after all. It is not unexpected that even in the social media generation, his identity remains relevant because he is a big package of many skills. Michael V became even more relevant today because a Rendon who is an influencer and entrepreneur is trying to bump into him. The issue that had been brewing between them exploded when Michael V posted a serious message on his Instagram account last April saying, “The first thing any “content creator” should understand is the meaning of the word: “CONTENT.” Rendon had a fiery response for it, “INFLUENCERS” are the new celebrities! Kung hindi ninyo kayang makipag patalinuhan sa mga INFLUENCERS sa pag produce ng content. Manahimik nalang kayo. MAINSTREAM IS DEAD! Social media is the NEW MAINSTREAM.” Based on Rendon’s statement, it appears that he has already articulated the characteristics possessed by skilled content creators such as himself. Michael V is correct in emphasizing the importance of exercising responsibility as a content creator or influencer. It is crucial to provide valuable information that does not cause harm to others, in order to establish oneself as a legitimate influencer or content creator. Setting a good example for viewers is essential, as it not only reflects positively on oneself, but also contributes to the betterment of the industry as a whole. By presenting oneself in a positive light, one can earn recognition and maintain longevity in the industry. In the current landscape of content creation, the mere act of producing content does not necessarily adhere to established guidelines. Many content creators prioritize quantity over quality, resulting in content that lacks depth and accuracy. It is important to note that producing content carries obligations to ensure that it is reliable and truthful. As such, it is imperative that content creators prioritize delivering high-quality content that informative. As for me, in matters involving these individuals, do not bump into someone who possess strong argumentative skills, such as Michael V. Engaging in an argument that is unfounded or lacks a solid basis may result in negative feedback from those observing the discourse. It is important to present an argument that is well-researched and supported by facts. It is also imperative to avoid the risk of public embarrassment, as individuals are quick to take screenshots and share them. Do not give yourself a chance to embarrass yourself in public – as individuals are quick to take screenshots and share them.
